Songwriting

Hi,

Sorry, it's been a while since I last posted on this blog  ... basically I've been a little bit busy with my life (yeah .. I have one). So, as we say, better late than never, happy new year everyone and best wishes !


Anyway, a few years ago, I used to write some poetry from time to time, but it's been a while since I last seriously did that. Lately, however, I decided to start again, and this time try to write a couple of short songs about things I'm interested in and hopefully I can start writing again on a more regular basis !

Here are the two first songs I just wrote, I have a couple of tunes in my head for these.
Note : you may find no obvious rhythms or tunes to go along with the texts : the tunes I thought about are quite complex.

So, the first song is entitled "I prefer living to dying" and it deals with substantial metaphysical and philosophical questions about life and death from the human kind perspective, I hope you can keep up.

                                I prefer living to dying

                                Life is cruel, but so is death
                                So I prefer living to dying
                                at least I know what it's like,
                                being alive you don't take risks.

                                have you ever heard from a dead ?
                                let no one cheat you in this,
                                I checked on the Internet,
                                called many travel agencies

                                there is no afterlife brochure
                                so why would you risk this venture ?
                                Just live live live, live live!
                                sing sing sing, sing sing!

                                Eat, drink, shit, and sleep
                                life is good after all
                                I prefer living to dying !
                                I prefer living to dying !

Quite deep stuff, isn't it ?! And now without further ado, let's move on to the second song, entitled "fly little bird" and this one deals with very important subjects, namely : Freedom, Liberty and Food chain !

                                Otherwise, I may eat you.
                                if you don't use your wings
                                let me have them fried.
